Confessions...

I had an "incident" tonight at Zupas. After ordering a salad (with the dressing on the side) and a beverage... Without even thinking, I filled my cup with CAFFEINE FREE Diet Coke, thinking I was showing massive self restraint. It didn't occur to me that this stuff is probably almost as bad as the leaded version. I had already drained my cup half way (maybe 10 ounces) before my husband pointed out that I could have chosen Crystal Light instead. To be fair, it was the first carbonation I've had in about three days and I hadn't noticed the Crystal Light. Of course, I wasn't really LOOKING for it either.

Anyway, I dumped the remainder of my wanna be Diet Coke and filled my cup with Crystal Light. Technically I didn't really cheat since it was caffeine free... But strangely, I feel a little guilty and decided I needed to confess my sin to you all so I can sleep with a clear conscience tonight. I promise, it won't happen again. I think if I'm giving up Diet Coke, I may as well give up all soda this week... So I'm making that the new goal.

I also made a late night run to Walmart tonight to hunt down an Angels baseball cap for my son, who left his hat at school and has team pictures tomorrow. Of course, he didn't clue me in on the problem until after 9:00pm, so Walmart was all that was open. Anyway, we found a plain red hat for him that will have to do. I also happened upon this little gem...

I know, I know. I'm like an alcoholic walking around in a Budweiser hat... But I just couldn't leave it there all alone in that big scary department store. It called to me.

Hello! I came across your awesome blog while googling "does Crystal Light count toward my water intake?" :) I LOVE it and marked it in my favorites for sure!! I'm excited to look at the "other losers" list too. I would love for you to see my weight loss blog too! tracyislosingit.blogspot.com - your diet coke struggle is all too familiar to me - I really love your blog!!!

Ok...the hat does call out to ones soul!!!

The 'incident' is what scares me most about losing all this weight. It is so easy to slip up without even realizing it! I've got years upon years of bad habits to break!

Love the earlier comment, It always amazes me how people stumble across my blog googling weird things WW related.

And I think your goal to give up all soda is awesome. I think you will find that once it's "out of your system" that you really don't even crave it that much anymore.

oooooh, so i guess i didn't understand what was going on. i thought you were swearing off carbonation...because that usually causes water retention. but apparently, it was caffeine? uh, caffiene is a dieretic. soooo...? hm.

What are you a Mormon?! Why would you quit the DC? What has it ever done but make you feel good inside and out?

Hippies don't drink diet coke, they drink diet Mt Dew.

I haven't had a chance to comment yet, but I've just caught up on your struggle to give up the DC. WOW!!! You go girl!!! I've been trying to give up caffeine and all things soda--diet and fully loaded--since I had the baby...it's been HARD!! But so far, so good. But a person can only drink so much lemonade, ya know?!? You are doing AWESOME!!!!! I can't wait til my scale says 164.5.... ;)
